We (developers) got mail from Apple with subject “Get ready for Safari Push Notifications”.
OS X Mavericks introduces a powerful new way to keep users engaged with our website. we can now use the Apple Push Notifications Service to send notifications to website users, even when Safari not opened or website. Safari Push Notifications work just like push notifications for (iOS) apps. They display website icon and notification text, which users can click to go right to our website. Even we can pass argument same like iOS app. We can open specific page when user click on action button.
Safari website push notification will work same like native app’s push notifications. We can also implement local notification in web site. But, we can show notification when your site is opened. And also for local notifications we can’t show web site icon, it will show Safari icon.
